If you need more 'movement' from the sprite you can have STEPPING ANIMATION ON during the jump and then off. Also, Jump should move the event passed/over even impassable tiles, but just in case you can place the falling event as THROUGH ON at the start of the movement and then THROUGH OFF again after the jump. In the case of Y coordinate, I think positive is down. Just add in the X and Y numbers that correspond to left/right and up/down distance. Usually the Jump command in Set Move Route does the trick. You may need to post a description of how your entering Actor event pages look.Īs for falling, how far is your event supposed to 'fall'? Is it just 3 to 8 tiles or is this a long fall bigger than the screen, with the 'camera' scrolling down the map alongside? Unless you have some other factors set for appearance that are making a higher number page trigger first before it goes transparent. Your entering character should not be visible at the start if your first page of the event is set with a blank graphic field. That means you can have other events check for that same switch to determine conversations or determine if the second character is in the party (assuming he or she joins during this cutscene.) Of course, there's Conditional Branches that can also check for those things, but that's another question entirely. Since it's a second party member, this is likely the case. You can also use the switch method Kurashi suggested, which is the what you should do if you are going to have other things that take into account the second character's arrival. Don't forget to add a Sound Effect like a door opening or something for extra realism. You might also need to add a Turn command into the Set Move Route immediately before you Change Graphic if you want the character to 'appear' facing in a direction other than downward. Set Move Route: : Change Graphic (tell the blank event to use the incoming actor sprite.) For instance:Īt the point in the scene where that actor makes an entrance, use: Eventually you'll settle on a preference. With this program there's usually a few ways to get things done. Have it placed where that character will appear or walk into the scene. As Kurashi said, you will need another event that will be your incoming character.
